Dr Lapatrada Taemaitree
Lapatrada completed her undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry at University of Oxford (2014). Her project in the final year was the study of the FtsK gamma subdomain as a smart controller of DNA translocase activity under the supervision of Prof David Sherratt. She then joined the Brown group as a DPhil student, where she focussed on genome editing and diagnostic applications using chemically modified CRISPR-Cas guide RNAs. After successfully defending her thesis (January 2019), she stayed in the group as a post-doctoral researcher with the aim of addressing the exciting findings she made and developing further CRISPR and diagnostic applications.
