Dr Afaf El-Sagheer

Academic visitor (2005-)

Afaf studied chemistry at Suez Canal University (Egypt). She did research for her PhD at Southampton University with Professor John Mellor then moved back to Egypt to become a lecturer. She was recently promoted to Professor at Suez University. Afaf is now working with Prof Tom Brown in Oxford investigating the applications of oligonucleotides in biology. Her current work is focused on the use of click chemistry to assemble novel modified DNA and RNA constructs and on new methods of DNA synthesis.
