Alexia Mattellone
Alexia is from Italy and obtained a Master’s degree at the University of Bologna. Her Master’s project was divided into two specific projects targeting the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease in which Alexia spent three months in the Michael Decker group at the University of Wuerzburg and six months in the Bolognesi group at the University of Bologna. Subsequently, Alexia has joined the Tolomelli-Cabri group at the University of Bologna as a graduate student, working on the design of green methodologies for peptide synthesis. As a visiting PhD student, she will spend 6 months in the Brown Laboratory focusing on the synthesis of modified oligonucleotides containing cleavable linkages for use in therapeutic applications.
