Mr Okan Altan
Okan completed successfully more than three years of research training in the field of nucleic acid chemistry as part of his master course programme at TU Dortmund University by studying abroad in Japan for 2 years at Tohoku University under the guidance of Prof. Nagatsugi (funding via JASSO/MEXT and JSPS fellowships). This was followed by a research stay at Prof. Browns research group at the University of Oxford (funding via DAAD research scholarships) where he worked on the multidisciplinary research project: Design, synthesis and evaluation of antisense oligonucleotides with application as potential therapeutic agents.
As an undergraduate student he worked in the group of Prof. G. Clever at TU Dortmund University, where he was able to publish his bachelor thesis research data in the high-level jorunal JACS: https://doi.org/10.1021/jacs.0c13251
As a postgraduate student in 2024 he is aiming for a PhD degree within the field of Oligonucleotide Therapeutics.
