Piotr Klimkowski
Piotr obtained his undergraduate in Chemistry with Chemical Technology (Master of Science Engineer) from Warsaw University of Technology (2014). During his degree he focused on the synthesis of new boronic acids and esters as a building blocks for Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs) in the Laboratory of Small Technologies under Sergiusz Lulinski (PhD, WUT). In last year of his master studies he did an internship in the group of Prof. Karol Grela (Biological and Chemical Research Centre, University of Warsaw). His research focused on the development of some new applications of ruthenium based catalysis in formation and isomerisation of C-C double bonds. Piotr joined the Brown group in 2015 as a D.Phil. student on the ClickGene project. His project is on the development of new sequence-specific duplex targeting probes to differentiate between C5-methylated and unmethylated genomic DNA.
