Sangeeta did her degree in Zoology, Botany and Chemistry at Kolkata University, followed by an MSc in Biotechnology at Bangalore University. She then studied for an MBA at Lucknow University and a PhD in Biotechnology at West Bengal University of Technology. She was briefly a lecturer in the Biotechnology Department at GKISM in Bangalore, then a research trainee at the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, Kolkata, and subsequently a Research Associate at the National DNA Analysis Centre, CFSL, Kolkata. She then spent 3 years as a molecular geneticist at Ocimum BioSolutions and was involved various areas including new product development, molecular diagnostics research and custom research. She started work in the Brown group in 2013 where she worked on the BBSRC sLOLA project “Extending the Boundaries of Nucleic Acid Chemistry.” Sangeeta now works at Evonetix in Cambridge, UK.
