Dr Arun Shivalingam
Arun completed his masters in chemistry at Imperial College London before continuing on to do a PhD in the same Institute under Prof. Ramon Vilar, where he studied the functional role of G-quadruplex DNA in cells. During this time, his interests became more focussed on how specific nucleic acids can be controlled, functionalised and targeted. He subsequently joined the Brown group as a postdoctoral research associate in 2015 with the goal of developing modified aptamers for challenging targets and improving the synthesis of natural and modified genes.
