Dr Nouha Ben Gaied
Nouha prepared her PhD at the university of Louis Pasteur (Strasbourg I, 2006) in organic chemistry under the supervision of Pr. Alain Burger. She was involved in two main projects; the preparation of fluorescent nucleoside probes as alternative to the 2AP as well as modified nucleosides analogues with antiviral properties targeting the Reverse Transcriptase of HIV-1. She then moved in 2007 to Southampton university in Tom Brown’s group as a research scientist in the nucleic acid field. She was involved in an EU funded project aiming at preparing new molecules to increase the stability of Triplex Forming Oligonucleotide (TFO) and used them as new tools for genetic and forensic science purposes.
