Dr Ewa Radzikowska-Cieciura
Ewa completed her interdisciplinary science studies at the University of Lodz, earning a master’s degree in organic chemistry in 2007. She then joined the Department of Bioorganic Chemistry at the Centre of Molecular and Macromolecular Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences (CMMS PAS), headed by Prof. Wojciech Stec. In 2014, she successfully defended her doctoral thesis on the synthesis of stereodefined oligodeoxyribonucleotides modified at the internucleotide bonds with sulfur or nitrogen atoms.
After obtaining her Ph.D., Ewa continued her work at CMMS PAS, focusing on the synthesis of modified nucleic acid analogues. Her research interests encompass P-chiral analogues of DNA and RNA, non-hydrolyzable analogues of nucleoside triphosphates, and coordination complexes of nucleosides and nucleotides with transition metals.
In January 2024, Ewa joined our team as part of the TransNAT consortium. Her current work involves the synthesis of modified oligonucleotides for therapeutic applications.
