Claire Hardiman

Research assistant (2008-2010)

Claire graduated from the University of Southampton in 2008 with an upper second class BSc in Chemistry. Her dissertation (The synthesis of Isoriccardin D) was completed with the group of Prof. David Harrowven. Throughout her undergraduate career Claire worked For ILIKA a spin off company from the Surface Science group of Southampton University, her role included the design of visual basic programme aimed to simulate the results of a Physical Vapour Deposition system. Claire joined the Brown group in 2008 and is currently working towards the development and application of photocrosslinking reagents. From a biomedical aspect the aim is to utilise these photocrosslinking oligonucleotide analogues as ‘gene clamps’ and to explore their use in the synthesis of covalently linked DNA nanoconstructs.
