Owen studied for his chemistry degree (MChem) at the University of Bath, before undertaking his PhD, supervised by Professor Tony James, researching boronic acid-appended polymers for separation and sensing applications. After completing his PhD, he joined ATDBio in 2013 as a research and development chemist.
